do this weapons attack in a straight line or do they use some kind of template? this is in regard to hiting multiple oponents.
thanks.

They form a 30 degree wide cone the length of the range of the weapon. Anyone inside that cone could be hit. If my math is right (and it's commonly wrong), with a centerline of 30m and a 30 degree angle of fire, the sides of the cone would be roughly 31m in length, and at the end the cone would be 16m wide (full width, not radius). This means at halfway, 15m out from the weapon, you'd have an 8m wide cone of fire, and so on.
So if using a battle map to describe your battles, if the squares represent 5 feet by 5 feet, the weapon would shoot 19-20 squares away and be 10 squares wide at the end.

To calculate the width of the flamer at any distance multiply the distance with 0.58, the (approximate) tan of a 30 degrees angle. Of course if it means 30 degree to either side of the center line you need to double that result.

Flamers fire in a cone, and can hit anything within that cone. Each creature in the cone has to roll an Agility test or take damage(The marine doesn't use a ballitics skill test), so they can certainly hit multiple enemies (and possibly allies!)
a 30 degree arc, out to the full range of the flamer weapon; Flamers always fire to the full range. If you're using a grid or miniatures, a template would certainly come in handy
The 30 degree arc is a game mechanic from table-top, though.
Safe to say that the actual jet is more narrow than that (around 5-10 degrees perhaps?), but you can wave it around to cover up to a 30 degree arc effectively in a combat round.
