Ozo with combat pack making a counter attack: How?

By Katsuyori, in Tannhauser

Ozo´s Supernatural Strength allows to alway use my best Combat value when making attack rules. But: Making a counter attack forces him to use his worst Combat Value. So, which one do I use? The best (maybe because this a special rule that overrides a regular rule like in other games)? The worst (according to the regular rule)? Or in this special case, the current ("the golden middle" as some kind of house-rule)?

What do you think?

He uses his best combat value imho.

For conflicting rules application I'd say that Equipment text trump base rules.

Thanks for the input, Plageman! Special rule beats basic rule, that´s how most games work, just my thought.

I think that would be a good question to ask FFG directly, there's a contact link at the bottom of the site, and then there's a form for rule questions.

Thanks, Miah, I´ll try that. Good hint, I didn´t know that :)

BTW if you get an answer, please post it on these boards.

Yes, I certainly will. But no answer until now.

I'm almost certain that he uses his best value. It's somenthing like golden rule (even thou rules don't say anything about golden rule). Still :) cards/effects trumps base rules.

That´s the official FFG-answer:

"If Ozo has Supernatural Strength in his pack, then he will always use his best combat value. This includes when he makes a counter attack."

Oh, and of course, OZO equipped with his normal packs will not make any counterattacks, because his Borchard has a mental tag on it. Right?

Stupid me. Of course he can. He cannot make an Overwatch attack. Always confusing these two gran_risa.gif

Nope, on page 25 of the Revised Rules, there is no restriction on what type of weapon may be used, "a counter attack is resolved as a regular attack..." So, as long as he can use it in a "regular" attack, he can use it to counterattack.

He cannot use it to make an Overwatch attack, which is restricted to Hand-toHand, Pistol, Automatic, or no weapon, and not Mental or Heavy weapons.

Edit posted at the same time as Katsuroi's second statement.
