Reckless Dice: WFRP 3ed edition podcast

By Rorschach Six, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'm pleased to announce a project Gitzman and I have been working or for a while now. We've started a podcast dedicated to WFRP 3rd edition and posted our first episode last night. Please give us a listed and tell us what you think. Our first episode is a long discussion about guides and vaults but we manage to bracket that with a little news and Q&A. We'll be putting out a new episode every two weeks.

The main site is recklessdice.rorschach.net and episodes are mirrored at Gitzman's Gallery. You can subscribe to us through iTunes or point your non-apple podcast manager to the RSS Feed.

We appreciate all feedback and comments either on the site, or through email at [email protected]. You can also follow us on Twitter @RecklessDice for near-real time news.

Thanks for listening,

-Gitzman and Rorschach

Listened to both your episodes yesterday and today. Thanks for doing this, I'm really glad to see a podcast out there that dedicates itself to 3rd Edition Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Thank you especially for going over the Guides/Vaults and what is specifically in those. I had no idea that expansion components did not come in the vaults.

I feel a lot better about grabbing the Core Set as a component user, GM, and group starter. Keep it up guys!

Great initiative, I've subscribed to it on iTunes and will be sure to listen to it soon. :)

Yes!

Can't wait to download this tonight. I've been hoping somebody would get around to this - count me as a 'customer'

Indeed!

We are very pleased to present our first episode (and if you must have more check out the pilot).

Just thought i'd stop by and say how excited we are to produce the podcast and look forward to many lively discussions on WFRP3.

Not to say it again, but please do post questions and topics either here or at [email protected] and we will talk about it on the show. Audio questions are great too.

Game on!

Gitzman

It might be interesting if you did one or more retrospectives...like a break down of the similarities / differences of the 3 editions of Warhammer FRP, a compare and contrast between the wargame's interpretation of the setting vs the roleplaying game's interpretation, and things like that.

Another interesting topic might be to compare and contrast the wizardly orders against each other and also the priestly orders, focusing on what the different spell / prayer action sets bring to a group.

Very very cool! Will give this a download when I get home and listen :)

GREAT GREAT GREAT Initiative ! The episode 0 was a critical hit ! Thanks for sharing your views on our game. That's really nice to be able to hear about that game as I'm the only WFRP3 GM in my friends.

Episode 0 is our sekrit throw-away episode where we semi-coherently yammer into microphones. Episode 1 is where the magic and some semblance of professionalism actually begins! :)

Thanks everyone for listening. We appreciate all the feedback!

Listened to episode 0 today, it was good stuff and I'm looking forward to more. I'll listen through episode 1 this weekend I think. The part you said about GM-tips would be great, maybe with some examples from your sessions just to be able to listen to how you do it, allways is good to listen to other GMs and players.

Keep up the good work, I'll give more feedback once I've listened to your proffessional episode 1. ;)

Dudes,

There is a reasonable chance i will be running a session this weekend using MapTools. We *may* record the session and post it as our first Reckless: Recorded Sessions.

That would be awesome. I'd love to listen to an actual play session. The only recorded sessions of Warhammer that I could find are 2nd Edition games. It actually really helps me learn how to play and run a game to listen to these sessions.

By the way, I just remembered that you talked about Mordheim in episode 0 you were wondering if the rules are avaliable. And as you and many listeners might be interested to know the rules can be found on GW's website, just google "Mordheim Rules" and you'll find them there (to download for free).

Also, a fan-made version called Coreheim exists: http://www.indadvendt.dk/mordheim/ said to be much more balanced and focused on the core mood of the Mordheim game. Worth checking out as Mordheim was kind of imbalanced, and is not supported or developed by GW anymore.

Great find K.

GW if i remember correctly has all of the Fantatic games Rulebooks that are no longer officially supported online for free. I believe they call them the 'Living Rulebooks' but i cannot remember for sure.

Gitz

I'd never seen that Coreheim before. It looks really interesting. Thanks for posting a link here.

Great work with the podcast guys!

This is what WFRP 3 needs!

I'm about 20 minutes into the first podcast, and my I just say it's nice to listen to one that doesn't sound like it was phoned in on a sat-phone from a submarine in the Indian Ocean. Good job. I'm really liking what I'm hearing, and I agree this is exactly what WHRP needed. I would also like to second, or third, the vote for a live session - especially if it comes across as clear as the pod cast. It would really help answer all the little questions that come up during play.

Thanks for the hard work guys, much appreciated.

Thanks for the great feedback guys.

I'd like to encourage you guys all to follow us on Twitter @RecklessDice

I'd also like to encourage you to submit a review for Reckless Dice on iTunes.

Thanks!

Gitzman

I have a major complaint about these podcasts.

I'm finishing up the second and still have tedious report-building to do at work. What will I listen to now!!! I need more!

Seriously; thanks guys. These are great. Any plans to get them on Zune?

I believe the RSS feed will allow you to incorporate Zoon will it not?

Yeah, my thoughts as well. Actually was able to understand what was said, despite noise around me.

Thanks for the reminder about Zune. I'll see about getting a submission to them.

I was still fiddling with the settings like mixes and compression for Ep0. Ep1 has much better sound quality.

And thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Feel free to spread the word. We'd love to hear from everyone and will even appreciate criticism. :)

Well done thus far, Gents.

I look forward to seeing the show grow as you grow into the show!

I hope you do some session recordings as well. I really enjoyed the misanthropes campaign :)

I think this would be incredibly valuable on many levels :)
