Grappling

Are there rules somewhere on grappling? I know there are some effects that interfere with maneuvering to disengage, but is there an actual full on wrestling / grab / entangle / held mechanic?

There is an action card called grappling something. You could always allow that action to be a basic action.

I'd suggest you allow your group to use Perform a Stunt to grapple, and make the effects a watered down version of the actual Grapple card. This would still provide incentive for players to take the action (Basically, learn how to wrestle), while giving anyone the ability to go for the clumsy dive at a foe.

This is the sensible solution of course. I'll use that suggestion as well if any players want to grapple without the card.

Currently the Grapple action requires two misfortune, I could see raising it to a Challenge Die and removing some of the bonuses for extra successes.

This is how I rule it. Also don't forget it is an athletics checks, not a weapon skill checK.

I must have missed that action card when I was looking earlier...ill check gain tonite. If anyone can recall the actual name of it, I'd appreciate it.

Its called "Grapple" :)

Yeah, I'm looking at it now.

Yes, yes I do feel stupid, thanks for asking!

That's what I get for flipping thru cards at 2 in the morning. Of course, if I had just remembered to look in the Players Guide instead, it's right there between the F's and the H's in the Melee attacks section.

But, I got the Creature Vault and Guide in the mail today, sitting on my doorstep when I got home, so I am consoled...

Thanks for the help, worthy sirs!
