Has anyone tried playing this game by e-mail yet? What have their experiences been? What are some of the pitfalls you could see happening?

I have not tried this. If I wanted to, though, I would probably be inclined to set up something similar to ti3wiki.org for RW. It would require a neutral gamemaster to ensure no cheating on card draws, but it seems to work just fine for TI3.
