Some questions ...

By moira2, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Greetings everyone,

please respond to the following questions. Much obliged.

1. in order to put less questions here, I was looking for the FAQ-section of WH-Inv. on this forum, but I could not find it. Please provide a link.

2. Is it allowed to play an action before one gets to assemble his resources during the kingdom phase? I'm thinking of cards such as 'Citadel of Dusk' (remove a resource token from it to get an additional power icon, which would generate an extra resource during kingdom phase) or 'Dreamer of Dragons' (the unit would then generate 1 extra income during kingdom phase per 1 wound taken).

3. about ownership and control: what happens if you get to ditch an other one's card whilst in your possession? Please let me give an example: I played 'Great Book of Grudges' [attaches to a Dwarf unit; +2 power icons; when entering a discard pile, the opponent takes 6 indirect damage] on my Dwarf unit. My opponent took control of this unit and sacrifices it to his own benefit (he's playing Dark Elves). Now some questions arise, being:

3.a.: who gets to take the 6 indirect damage (me, being the original owner of the dwarf and the book and the graveyard this dwarf is goin' into, or the opponent who last controlled it);

3.b.: suppose I had a Grudgebearer (forced: when one of your other dwarf units leaves play, put a resource token on this card) or a Dwarf Ranger (forced: after one of your other dwarf units leaves play, deal 1 damage to target unit or capital) into play, would they trigger their forced actions because of my (previously) own unit leaving play or not?

4. discard and control : the following arose during one of our latest games: the Dark Elves-card 'Seeking New Slaves' states: "put target unit that entered an opponent's discard pile this turn into play, corrupted, in any of your zones". Since the text does not state 'from play' we imagined this meant that every card that got in the discard pile was eligible, meaning that cards discarded by for example 'Shades' (scout/discard a card at random when this unit survives combat) or 'Dark Abyss' (action: at the beginning of your turn, discard the top card of target player's deck) could be 'taken'. Is this the right way to play this?

#1: deckbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php

#2: Not during the Kingdom Phase, its Action window comes after those. However, you can use the Action: during Phase 0, IIRC but are in effect until the end of the turn.

#3: A) Control of the attachment doesn't change if your opponent takes control of the unit, so you are still in control of the Book. Even better because the Book triggers off the attached unit entering the discard pile, it says nothing about you still having to control the unit. So your opponent would take 6, not you (at least that's how I'm reading things).

B) In these cases, those dwarves would not trigger, the unit was no longer your unit, it was your opponent's unit.

#4: Yes, same way Stand Your Ground works if a dwarf unit that was a development was destroyed and entered the discard pile. Cheap turn 1 King Kazador with Innovation + Demolition + SYG cool.gif .
