what are the best expansions for lannister?

By ironman4, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

as the topic says.

Id like to build a stark deck and would have got lords of winter as they are my favourite characters from the books but my girlfriend has claimed stark, so not wanting her to stop playing im letting her keep stark, so I need to go lannister.

So, I have 2 copies of the core set, is there anything else which is pretty much essential to building a good lannister deck? hopefully they will have a big box add on soon.

Alot depends on what type of Lannister deck you want to build, some just overall nice Lanni cards

Ancient Enemies - For the Fury Plots.

Battle of Ruby Ford - For Castellan of the Rock

Sacred Bonds - To Be a Lion

The Tower of the Hand - A version of Jamie which can kneel a character

Also Lannister runs Shadows decks very well so depending on how much you want to spend the packs from King's Landing cycle have some nice stuff.

thanks for the quick reply. that version of jaime does look good although the core version isnt too bad.

I made a deck today using the contents of 2 core decks. Hopefully ill have a chance to try it out soon.

Looking through a few of those chapter packs i cant help noticing the stark cards usually let their player choose and kill a character where for the same circumstance the lannister card let their player choose and kneel a character. Im not really sure how well balanced this is?

Generally Lannister can kneel easier and more often than Stark can kill. They also draw alot more and generate more gold so they can replace killed characters easier.

Yeah pretty much what he said. I do a lot of Stark vs. Lanni w/my son, and we have several chap packs and 2 X core so we've made some fun but basic decks. Anyway I always think "wow I'm going to totally kill him!", but then end up getting knelt out, outspent, outdrawn, etc half the time and I wonder "what the heck!" :)

Yeah, you are right, kneel is much better than kill happy.gif
