Since the default recommended newbie mode of play is death-match and it's a 2CP game, do we all agree that no reinforcements are currently allowed? (but that the rules as written allow for something in the future possibly)
Reinforcements rule for beginners
*OR* do we house-rule this one and say that the original intent was probably to ALLOW reinforcements and that the revised rules had an unfortunate typo and that characters with medals should be allowed to spend them during the upkeep phase (reset token phase).
Some modes and scenarios do have 3 CP per turn.
We play Deathmatch as the quickest & deadliest game mode - so no reinforcements and everyone has Combat packs. Also would like to have preset team configurations chosen randomly - we just draw tokens from a bag for now when choosing heroes and then again for troopers.
For beginners, I've found this the best mode as it removes a lot of pre-game decision-making.
From the FFG FAQ:
"In a 2 Command Point game, there is not currently a way to introduce reinforcements using Command Points."

It's unfortunate when a FAQ causes further questions - such as "does this mean the command points from Iron Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star and future equipment providing command points cannot be used for reinforcements in this mode? or did the FAQ not account for this equipment?" I think the intention was the former, and still allowing Not Dead Yet to function in Deathmatch...
Remember that CP from item cannot be used for reinforcements as they are lost during the "refresh token step".

You need to activate a character to use those medals (as I understand it) and the Command Points do not carry over from turn to turn. Since reinforcements are introduced BEFORE any figure has activated, the Command Points from the medals would not be available when you needed them. The answer in the FAQ was reasonable; the Medals just need better text to specify when they can be used. This is something that I've already brought up with FFG, so hopefully, the next FAQ will clarify this for people.
