Rule Questions

By Der_Berserker, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Hello,

i have several rule questions:

1. Does armour granted by the implant system "subskin armor" stack with the armour granted by the mutation "tough hide"? Do both stack with armour like carapace armour?

2. A good-crafted "mind impulse unit" (MIU) grants various boni when interfaced with MIU systems. How can i make a normal weapon a MIU weapon?

3. "Into the Storm" introduces vehicles. Are there rules for starfighters attacking starships?

4. Endeavours: Some ship components grant achievement points when completing an objective. We are playing currently the campaign "Lure of the Expanse". The campaign is divided in three adventures. Do the adventures count as objectives? Will the players get their achievement points for the components after each adventure?

Thank you very much for helping me!

Hello,

Yes, I would say it does

2. A good-crafted "mind impulse unit" (MIU) grants various boni when interfaced with MIU systems. How can i make a normal weapon a MIU weapon?

Weapon attached to vehicles and those like the MIU weapon implant would benefit from the implant, ship systems would also profit.

3. "Into the Storm" introduces vehicles. Are there rules for starfighters attacking starships?

They will be in Battlefleet Koronus (which is up next)

4. Endeavours: Some ship components grant achievement points when completing an objective. We are playing currently the campaign "Lure of the Expanse". The campaign is divided in three adventures. Do the adventures count as objectives? Will the players get their achievement points for the components after each adventure?

The adventures state for what the objective points are awarded, if its War, add the War Bonus etc.

Thank you very much for helping me!

Re #1: Subdermal armor & tough hide count as the "Natural Armor" trait, so yes, it would stack.

Hello,

1. OK. The three sources of armour all stack.

2. So all vehicle and all ship weapons and systems will profit. Normal weapons won't. If a character has a MIU, he can connect with all those weapons and systems.

3. Fine :) .

4. I understand the meaning of the different objectives themes. The playes get the boni when completing an objective but what are the objectives of the campaign? Are the three adventures of the campaign each one objective?

THX for your help!

4. It will say in there what the objectives are and what kind they are. If you complete one of them you get a set amount of achievement points. If you have the right components you get more achievement points.

2. Regular weapons can/do have MIU interfaces. In fact, I think they all do, as there is nothing about adding them or anything like that.

1&3. Yep :)

Hi,

4. I am incapable to find the objectives :( . Has somebody the numbers of the pages where the objectives are listed?

THX for your patience!

So, don't get shot with a Hellfire bolt round. It ignores "Natural Armor." Actually, while you are correct that they do all stack, Cranial and Sub-skin armor do not count as the Natural Armor trait. They merely follow similar rules, as noted in their descriptions.

By the same token, armor points gained from the Armor Plated and Machine traits also stack with worn armor. The armor points from Machine are generally the only armor to mitigate damage from being on fire, as well.

I don't think a weapon needs to have a MIU interface. The MIU enables direct communication with the machine spirit, right? And the quality of the MIU implant determines with which kind of machines it can "bond."

Alex

The MIU implant seems to indicate that you have to plug into any machine who's machine spirit you want to communicate with you. You don't just psychically connect to the machines.
