Creature Cards

By RARodger, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I picked up the Creature Vault today. While I'm going to get the Creature Guide eventually, I just couldn't afford both right now. And I really wanted the creature cards before my next session on Monday. And I love it. I only wish there were more! I love that they have the NPCs for the adventures (since I'm running The Gathering Storm right now) this is really awseome.

However, not everything on the cards are expained, so I was hoping someone could help me (or confirm my guesses).

On the right hand side there are three symbols: a talon, perhaps someone with a shield and... something else. Something running maybe? I'm guessing the top one, the talon is the damage the creature does. Does that already include the creatures Strength? Is the second one defense? What's the third one? (I would assume armor or soak, but maybe that's the second one?) And again for all of these, does that already factor in the attribute?

And then below those images are icons from the action cards-- melee, ranged, spells, support, etc. I presume if something has two support symbols, for instance, it's recommended it gets two support cards?

Finally, and I think I should know this one, why is "Expertise" in yellow on some of the cards?

Can anyone share?

I am really stoked with it, but I wish that this stuff had been explained on the insert so the guide wasn't required. (Or is the information somewhere else as well?) My only other complaint is I wish there were multiple copies of some of the cards-- the ones you'd be expected to meet in groups of minions, just because it would be so much easier to lay them out and track wounds and A/C/E off them. As is I'm going to make use of the sheet made available in Universal Head's file.

its Weapon Damage, Soak Value, Defense rating. Those are added to Strength for weapon damage and To for total Damage Reduction

The icons for cards are bonus actions for tougher monsters. Those can be picked from player actions cards, or monster cards

Fortunes are White dice (Agression & Cunning are Fortune dice), Expertise is Yellow (yellow dice), better than Fortunes.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.

Now to just get some sheets to organize them...

I use Universalhead page 13, it's very usefullgui%C3%B1o.gif
