Using a Map/Grid

Hey there guys. Trying to create some maps/grids for my game with the hopes of making combat dynamic by adding terrain, obstacles, and cover.

Just curious how would approach mapping the encounters of Final Sanction, and if you can point me to places where I could learn these things.

I only use maps with grids for indoor scenes, where an actual 3-D terrain set-up would be impractial. Outdoors, I try to use only miniature terrain and measure all distances with a tape measure, wargame-style. That makes the fight scenes much more dynamic that playing on a marked grid. Here is an example of one of my set-ups from my Dark Heresy campaign:
