I know if your going to be a Catachan guardsmen, your gunna be from a Feral World. But are Catachans more modern than the Feral worlders on Fenris or are they have less? Also, I know like all guardsmen, catachans use; lasguns, las pistols, flamers and the like. Real questions is what type of tatics and field gear would most catachans have? I know they have the same weapons as normal guardsmen but do they carry differn't weapons and gear to deal with jungle enviroment and would that help in cities and towns against humans and the other forces the inquisition deals with, if possible would you please take a little time out of your scheduel to list somthing that a catachan would have.

For the record, I plan to roll a catachan, and I like to be legit. I have just bought the Imperial Guard Omnibus: Volume 1, and I am reading "Better the Devil" and "Death World" and I am hypnotised by their prowess unlike the other imperial guards.

Wu Ming has a really good rules set for rolling a catachan, which I will keep in mind for later in my game. But I feel the best way to get into a little more about the catachans (Other than the novels) is to read the old codex from 3rd edition Warhammer 40k, its what really got me into playing imperial guard. I especially liked the rule regarding Commisars where you needed to roll for them each turn, and if you failed they were "misled" by their soldiers and pushed into a death trap.

Note that nearly all guardsmen use las weapons. Even feral ones. It's standard issue Guard equipment, and nearly every guardman in trained in it's use. Keep in mind that the DH guardsmen career isn't just for guardsmen, but also mercs, and feral warriors.

I just want to note that feral world and death world are not the same thing. Catachans have technology on par with most imperial worlds- its the worlds dangerous fauna and flora that makes the world different.If I remember right there will be more about death worlds in Creatures Anathema.
