Direwolves help

By Avii, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Hey all,

Over the holidays I purchased the Lords of Winter box and I tweaked my CS Stark deck to the Direwolf deck suggestion in the LOW box (made some changes though). I was wondering what are some of the chapter packs that I should pick up to enchance the direwolf deck even more? Thanks for the help.

Sacred Bonds. Possibly even x3. Feral Pack is interesting, if you can live with the drawback that you can only have Stark chars. To Be A Wolf is an excellent event for any Stark deck.

The Wildling Horde has an inhouse version of Ghost , which is interesting if you go with Feral Pack, because then you won't want to use core set Ghost.

If you do want to go with Feral Pack, you're stuck with House Stark-affiliated chars anyway, so you might consider going all-Stark all the way and get Ancient Enemies for Bear Island . Now that I think of it, you're going to need Ancient Enemies anyway, for the Fury of the Wolf plot.

Agreed 3x To Be a Wolf is needed. Dupes of Sam if you are using Seasons since Stark has poor draw mechanics, and you'll probably want 3x Winterfell Kennels for the same reason. If you aren't using Sam I would recommend 3x Val.
Thankfully BotFM is now banned.

I'm still pretty new to this, so I don't really know what I'm talking about - but is Winterfell Kennels really that good? It costs two gold to play, then one for each use, and I found Stark to be somewhat lacking for gold at times. What do you think of Wolf Dreams instead of the Kennels? Sure, it's not repeatable, but at least it's free. Or would you run Wolf Dreams in addition to the Kennels?

Kennels gives you some of the easiest draw in the game and Stark has little of it that doesn't require challenges won or defended. It won't help you as much in the early game but when you head to the mid or late game it is invaluable. I've got a Direwolf deck which makes use of some bolton bouncing/stealing tech. Most of the important stark direwolf cards are in there.

Wolf Dreams doesn't get you any extra cards since you are just playing one card to get another one. Draw mechanics are really important; without additional draw you'll have a hard time keeping up with Houses like Lannister and Martell that can hit the draw cap every round. I'm building a Direwolf deck right now too, and I'm not saying Wolf Dreams is a bad card necessarily, but there are probably better events you could be using instead.

Here is my deck list:

House: Stark

Agenda: Siege of Winterfell

So I basically followed like the LoW suggested but my major changes were in the plot and some of the characters. Let me know your thoughts on the tweaks I need to make. Also I wanna try this deck on OCTGN, is there anyone willing to play a newcomer to the program and such?
