Here's the count (in case you want to know). WFRP3 has the following so far:
43 basic careers
17 advanced careers
83 actions (166 if you count both sides/effects)
84 talents

Oh... I thought there were more actions than that with the spells and blessings.
Sounds about right. It does illustrate that we're really very low on actions when you consider how many of those are spells/blessings. I've found myself wishing I had about twice as many actions recently.
Those actions can't include spells and blessings: there are 8 colleges and 9 lores (I think). Each has around 10 cards...
But I still want more actions, talents, careers etc...
Correct. I have not included Blessings and Spells. Anybody care to do the numbers to compare to where we were in previous editions?

Here is my count for everything published to date:
TALENTS
28 Focus + 30 Reputation + 24 Tactic = 82
That's excluding the 9 Faith cards, the 8 Order cards, and the 6 Tricks, which would bring the total to 105 Talents.
ACTIONS
(Including the Basic Actions once each)
38 Melee + 22 Ranged + 50 Support = 110
That's including Curry Favor because it's marked as Support in my deck, while Channel Power is marked as a Spell.
If you include Blessings, you get to add:
3 Basic + 13 Manann + 13 Morr+ 13 Mymidia + 13 Ranald + 15 Shallya + 13 Sigmar + 13 Taal + 13 Ulric + 13 Verena = 122
That brings the action total to 232
Spells - excluding dark magic - add:
4 Basic + Quickcasting + Improved Counterspell + 13 Amber + 13 Amethyst + 13 Bright + 13 Celestial + 13 Gold + 13 Grey + 13 Jade + 13 Light = 110
If I made no mistakes while counting, that would result in an overall total of 342 Actions.
That's without the NPC Actions, of course.
Hope this helps.

I can't seem to recall how many different combat actions you had in 1st/2nd?
There's something the matter with you all. I misremember how many cards of each type there should be and underestimate the total count by a large margin and nobody's called me a complete moron or brought up the physical characteristics of my mother. Is this the first time you've been on the internet? Really now.
That's more than I would have imagined, but it does make sense now that I consider it. Still, I've found myself wanting more action cards lately... it seems a lot of the time I just don't have the choices I'd like across the board, be it spells, social actions, or support actions. I know a lot of that can be covered by use of Perform a Stunt, but it's the situation I've found myself in. We have a player using a Great Weapon for the first time, as well as our second Wizard being created, and they both have expressed the same thing.
In the case of the Wizard, I think it's a design and lore thing that limits them; Wizards aren't supposed to be the D&D-style relying on spells and never lifting a sword. In the case of the Pit Fighter, I assume it's just because Omens of War isn't out, and in my case, it's Support and Social that are lacking, which I assume will be covered by the eventual Slaanesh supplement.
Keep in mind that early PCs, even with the hundreds of cards available, will generally only have 2-3 (excepting basic actions) other action cards. It's a matter of the plethora of choices that players have.
Do you spend your advancements/creation points on Skills, Talents, Actions, or Characteristics? It's a tough choice. General consensus, of course, seems to be to prioritize buying Characteristics at Creation. That doesn't leave much left for the rest, though. There are some really handy Talents, too, and at least a few skill/Expertise dice are pretty essential. So, you don't get much in the way of Action cards with what is left. One or two combat and maybe a social/support is all you can afford to start, for example. As you rank up this will grow slightly, but I think unless you focus on gaining Action cards over other things, you'll pretty much always feel the need for additional Action cards.
