Will you rank my games?

By Trish's Boyfriend, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I am an asian and going to Canada for business(Maybe I'm going to immigrate to Canada).

I plan to take my boardgames there. Because boardgaming is a good way to mingle with foreigners. At least I believe so.

But I have a problem that my carrer is not enough big to carry the all game. As you know, this is not a trip but a sort of migration.

My bag will be full of clothes, cosmetics and daily necessaries in addition to the games.

So I ask you a question if you were me which game you would take overseas?

Below my game list :

1. Arkham Horror with Dunwich Horror, Innsmouth Horror and Dark Pharaoh.

2. Puerto Rico(in my mother language)

3. Al Hambra

4. The princes of Florence(in my mother language)

5. Citadel

6. Lord of the Rings - the confrontation

7. Atlantic Star

8. Lupus in Tabula

9. Bang!(in my mother language)

I think most of you being from Western Culture, so I expect you know well that which will be attractive to Canadian.

I really hope to get various opinions from you.

With best regards to you.

P.S : To minimize bulk of my package, I'm going to take only some parts of the games (e.g. taking just the cards and the boards not its case)

Unfortunately, I have not played most of these games. But I have a fondness for Arkham Horror (no less than all three big expansions will do!) and Puerto Rico (no less than both expansions will do!).

I enjoyed my plays of Alhambra but I could see myself tiring of it.

I haven't really enjoyed Bang! so much, so that would stay.

But then again, it's Canada. You're bound to find, without too much effort, someone who will like any of those games.

Much as AH and Puerto Rico would be my personal picks, if you're looking to meet new people, it might be worth bringing something a little lighter. Of the ones I'm familiar with, Citadels seems like a fun but accessible choice. But then I don't know much about the likely gaming inclinations of the sorts of people you'll be mingling with (or of Canadians generally).

I find Bang! to be a really fun social game, and makes a good "party game." It's probably not difficult to transport since it's just cards I guess? But it all depends on if you feel you'll encounter people who can read your native language, otherwise that may make things a lot harder and your fun games may just hang on a shelf :-x

This is really the wrong forum for this type of question. Also I don't think it fits anywhere here on FFG owned forums. I think you'd find the responses you're looking for on BBG's forums.

Dear the old man, thank you for your notice.

But I'm afraid that I have to tell you this. If you were not of a member of staff of FFG, you could not say like that.

Because, all of boardgame band people together whatever it is from FFG or Alea or Ystari.

And there are some FFG games on my list, and I love those games.

I know the usage of this forum very well.

I have written some forums down here so far.

If you think I get a wrong number, plz check my other forums.

Check out apples to apples. Great social game.
