2 questions

By Anarin, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I read forums and i'm confused by two things. First is Kate Winthrop - on her sheet it say *do not place clue token on science building (where she starts play). I saw that people play she get that extra clue token but we played that there is no clue token (it is already included in her inventory).

2nd question is about environment - rules say : all environment cards say : investigators in Arkham. But i saw "Urban/Weather Environments affect investigators in Arkham only; Mystic Environments may affect those in OWs as well - the type is otherwise irrelevant, and you only have one Environment card in play at any one time, regardless of type." Is this correct?

Anarin,

As they say around here, "Welcome to the Carnival!"

To your questions...

1. Yes, Kate starts with that Clue Token from the Science Building, which is why you don't place one at that location.

2. "In Arkham" refers to the Arkham Board or any other board (Dunwich, Kingsport [sorry, Dam], and Innsmouth) currently in play. Those investigators in the Other World(s) are immune from those effects. I believe the general consensus for those cards not stipulating "In Arkham" do, in fact, affect those Investigators traversing the Other World(s). Also, you're correct about the one-per-type rule. Only one Environment, Headline, and/or Rumor may be "in play" at any given time.

The Professor

Basically, if you add up her starting equipment, she has an extra clue token, as compared to everyone else. That clue had to come from somewhere! Where? The Science Building of course! And that is why we say she has an "extra" clue token (even though she still only starts with 2), and you still don't place one at the Science Building at the start

And I think you may be a familiar face at BGG (or read the thread there), and read that some Environments MAY effect those in Other Worlds. Examples include "Eclipse" simply because it says "Spells cannot be cast" and NOT "Spells in Arkham cannot be cast." Hope that clears up anything you had questions about!

ok we played that way i just found some FAQ for begginers (even i'm not i read em to check for mistakes)

thanks
