Dodge, parry & block all at the same time?

In response to an attack, can a character play dodge, parry and block all as the same time?

Yes.

Two party members can both use improved guarded position while you use improved block, dodge and parry - giving you 5 extra challenge dice to put in the pool. Considering you have a defense of 2.

Still a Stone Troll would have 50% chance of hitting you if the master spends 2 agression, 1 cunning and 2 expertise.

So those defense cards are never going to be imbalanced - and the next round you'll be quite vulnerable. :)

But if you're lucky and wear armor it may prevent you from being smashed completely into the ground - although a stone troll using a tree trunk as a club could very well smash you to pieces on a single hammer.

Yeah I know. Sometimes I forget what's house rules and what's RAW rules gran_risa.gif

But even removing an expertise die it's still around 48%

Personally my rule for normal NPCs is that they can use up to three expertise dice for a roll, considering that's the usual skill limit. Even then for some incredible NPCs like the greater demons with 9 expertise I'd allow all 9 in one go.

I spend 1 expertise dice per "rank" I figured out for the creature.
