Too expensive?

Hi there,

i love the game, it is well designed and has good balance. While playing i feel myself shifted into another world.

Anyway, the last game opened my eyes to the amount of material for the price. As i had to transport the game to a friend, i used a smaller box for the transportation. I used the "Well of Darkness" Expansion box of Descent and except the 4-Hexagon-Tile it all fits into the box^^.

Hence i think the price is not justified. Think about arrange "Twilight Imperium" or "Tides of Iron" (as this games are in the same price class) into a Descent expansion box.....no way!

I've been 100% happy with the price of the game :) I got it at a discount, but would have paid full price for it had that not been an option for me. I've gotten more than my money's worth out of it.

It may not have the sheer quantity of plastic miniatures as other games, but there is more to a cost than mere components, and the components that do come in the game are top-notch quality (and there ARE still a lot of them!)

I think that the question of whether or not the price is worthwhile is one that every person has to answer for themselves. Some people place more value on the quantity of components, others place more value on the quality of the components. Some don't care about components as long as it's fun to play.

Whatever your personal position, I'm a bit surprised that would change your mind just because you've realized you can fit everything in a smaller box (barring one piece.) It seems to me that's something that either would have bothered you from the get go or else wouldn't matter later on. It's still the same game, after all.

Ideally one should determine if the price is worth paying before one pays it. After all, no product has value beyond what consumers are willing to pay.

compared to a CCG (customizable card game) its cheap. i ike the big box. dont buy it at the first opportunity, look through the internet distributors.

I think the dame is dead expensive as the quality of the box is not what I would have expected for a 100 € game!!

Can anyone give me the email adress to complain to FFG as my box craked a side edge y now i have a hole instead of an edge! I would like to let them know what I think on the box quality. Otherwise the prize would have been for me.

Hopefully they can satisfy your concerns.

I managed to get it cheap (70 euros) but even with the full price I wouldn't have any regrets. Both me and my gaming group simply love this game!

neither would I if the box would have not been of such a poor quality....

I don't think it's a universal problem; my box has held up quite nicely. My TI3 box is starting to split, but that's largely because I wasn't always very careful with it, either.
