Pre-Written System Discovery PDF

By Sokahrthumaniel, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

Hello all,

I have been using the random system generator presented in the GM kit, plus a bit of discussion and imagination to come up with a document listing ten systems for Gms to use in case of navigational error or random 'go explore' decisions on the part of your players.

While I finish off the main document (spell checking, text justifying and rules lawyering behind the scenes), I would like to present to you two of the sample systems. This document is not completely finished, and may have shoddy editing in places, but I am looking for feedback concerning the content of the document, and any requests (themes and 'length of stay' more than specific systems - specific systems defeat the point of writing a randomly generated 'imagination gone wild' document).

Critique concerning content is welcome, although critique of editing and spelling will be superfluous as I already have two of my fellow club GMs poring over it with red pens making sure I am put through my paves for the finished document.

So without further ado I present St. Raphael's Folly and The Strip , two new systems for you to introduce via misadventure or design!

Fly safe (as can be)!

The only celestial of bodies of note beyond the duelling stellar behemoths that dominate the region are a pair of barren, scorched worlds, one a cracked plain of volcanic glass and magma, the other a scoured radioactive desert tainted by the violent flares of it's distant stellar tormentors

"a pair of barren, scorched worlds. One a cracked plain."

Discovery of this system by chance is a double edged sword, as making it through to the relative safety of he Strip's Elysium zone

"safety of the Strip's Elysium"

Aside from these little typos, and possibly some better formatting all good from my point. As per expansion on these two, I would recommend possibly considering a template for a modified availability table for the The Strip. Similarly for the former some sort of space hulk for entry, or the addition of a valuable, but dangerous mining resource.

I look forward to further additions, and for others this is certainly a decent format.

I make use of a free sci-fi star system generate located here , pretty interesting!

Thanks for the link, that is pretty useful for generating the specifics of a solar system.

Also if anyone else wants to share their ways of dealing with random events such as navigational errors, they are more than welcome, though I would also like feedback on the document draft linked above.

Note that this document may change without notice as it is a direct dropbox link to the draft document - though i will attempt to post an update before I add any more systems to this public version.

Coming soon: justified text formatting and two more systems (featuring a post-industrial xenos species, a void whale and more!).

I love the personalities on the Strip! Keep 'em coming.
