hey I just got Dunwich expansion in the mail last night and was looking through the cards and noticed Call Friend spell... if a scenario would occur where I had the spell in an Other World and I called a friend into it and there were 2 gates from that OW leading back would we both be able to close or seal one? or does it only count as "passing through" the OW if you enter through a gate?
Call Friend
Nope, you're fine! That's a mighty fine way to use it (or pair it with a Gate Box!). Especially if they have 5 clues or an elder sign. Remember they can't move out of the Outer World, even if you cast it in the 2nd area! Since it says they can't move!

true but if they moved first to maybe pick up a clue or kill a monster it would be even more cool
... i guess that leads me to another question then...in the OW you have no movement points... and are basically pushed along the track... if you were in the 1st area...and are getting pushed to the 2nd... would you be able to cast it in the 2nd? or is that not considered movement once you move there?...
I'd say you basically can always cast it in the 2nd. But perhaps after you move to the next area, your movement phase ends? Not sure on the official ruling but that's how I'd play it. With my way you could always bring a friend in the 2nd area: Either you start in the first area, move to the 2nd, and cast; OR you start in the second area, cast it, then exit back to Arkham.
We'll see what the rest of our peanut gallery has to say!
I'd say that moving from the 1st half to the 2nd constitutes your entire movement. After all, you only perform that movement if you don't successfully cast Find Gate: you can't move to the 2nd area, declare that it is still your movement, and cast Find Gate to exit.
But you do seem to be correct the other way. You could cast it first while in the 2nd space, and then move out.
Ah, so you're going with the option I threw out there? The "it counts as your movement and then ends" one. That makes sense, and while I dunno if there's an official ruling, generally if there's a choice between an exploitive and non-exploitive way, we should pick the non-exploitive option ![]()
yeah since its not really defined it seems like you could do it both ways... it seems like one of those rules where it changes depending on how bad you are getting beat heh...just like when a dice hits the floor and its a success it counts but if it isn't it doesn't
