gambit cards

By monk, in Battles of Westeros

when using gambit cards can you only use them once per game. Or is it 'I play mine - momentm shifts. They play theirs- momentum shifts. I can now play my card again etc etc'?

cheers

I believe it's multiple times per game, since you just flip the card instead of removing it to the box.

Of course, I want to house rule that both players grab all their Gambit cards. You still use the momentum token to show who has momentum and who can play one of their Gambits. Then, when you want to play one, you choose one of your Gambit cards to play, then throw it in the box and pass the momentum marker. Some of the Lannister Gambits particularly would benefit from being a surprise effect.

I could even see expanding this into a mini draft, where you shuffle the Gambits and deal 4 randomly to each player, choose one, pass, choose one, pass, until both players have chosen 4, no matter whose House they are supposed to be for. This seems like it would work well given that I don't believe the Gambits are well-balanced for individual scenarios. Sometimes Stark may want to be tricky and Lannister may want a little defensive power, for instance.

Of course it's multiple times per game. You can use the card effect and flip the card facedown and your opponent gains momentum and flips his card faceup. Now he can use the gambit card and so on.

Thanks. I like that idea, particularly abut the part of mixing the gambit cards together. This way each house can use 'other tactics' rather than their sterotypical ones.
