Has anyone ever hit a character with Bouncing Betty?

By The Mi-Go 13, in Tannhauser

I must be missing something in the revised rules. I know that Bouncing Betty does 4 automatic attack successes, but here's my question; if Betty only damages characters on the circle with Betty, and it can only be detonated on Delastillas' activation, WHY would any enemy character ever stop on the circle with Bouncing Betty?

Has anyone managed to hit a character with Betty's explosion? If so, how?

Thanks for your help gang,

M13

Get to the Enemy objective first and plant the Betty in the adjacent circle (many objectives only have one).

That's really the only use I can think of.

Yep betty sux noodles, you can go for 2 automatic wounds, being it i tripmine. (I'm playing betty as tripmine, any character who eters, sets it off)

You can also use BB to make a path less desirable to be used by the opposing team.

I'd say that the objective of the bouncing betty is not to hit someone with it, rather for you to create a strategy as to what to do next based on the enemies actions.

but can't you explode BB with any of your characters?? the rules only say "as an action, you may place this token on your current circel. Then in any of your later activations, you may spend an action to detonate it, dealing damage in that location as above and elimating the token" exact wording. I've always belived that any of your characters could use their action to blow the BB, since the other object which can be used in a similar fashion is Tala's TNT which explicity say only Tala may blow it up when placed on the ground.

Yeah i agree this is a next to useless equipment slot for something that should be much more devastating, especially being in a combat pack. The placement near objective/action circle is a great idea, but in practice that opportunity hasnt really presented itself when compared to other superior options.

For next game with Sergio, i'm going to try houseruling, adding that it also deals 2 or 3 automatic successes to any character on the same path as Bouncing Betty when it goes off, since it IS a shrapnel proximity mine basically...
