DeathWatch RP

By Huharu, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

I'm new to Deathwatch, and as a GM, I would like to roleplay with someone forum-wise before my first gaming session. I don't mind how many players, as long as they are ok with the whole 'Online roleplaying' concept on these forums. I am not going to start quite yet, still reading over the rules a bit, but I welcome any comments or posts. Thanks.

What exactly do you have in mind? You want to play here? In the Deathwatch forum?

Hmmmm, could be interesting, could be an interesting expanded idea as well. Could always set up the FFG DW forums as "Watch Fortress Erioch", feel the need to rp with your battle brothers, easy enough to a few posts, swap war stories, tips and tactics in character so your/our/we don't have to make up every DW Battlebrother npc.

I would also suggest watching the Ultramarines movie, if you haven't already.

Not the greatest cinema ever made, but it's pretty **** faithful to 40K. And, even after 20+ years of being in the GW hobby, it still gave me a very refreshed insight into roleplaying Space Marines. I watched it with my player group, and the following session was much more vibrant, with added tactical conversation, some brotherly boasts and arguments, and a ton more group-chants of, "And we shall know no fear!". gran_risa.gif

Yes, have you even roleplayed online? No dice or character sheet needed, although you can use one if you like. I wanted to see how the stories play out as well as get some experience before I GM a game. Any help would be nice, as well as fun.

I will watch it as soon as I can! Sounds great! Thanks

In my experience, I've tried every method of delivery for RP, and as yet, there is simply no substitute for sitting round a table with a bunch of people.

And yeah, totally check out Ultramarines when you can. It really isn't the best piece of cinema ever made, but way better than expected. The added visuals of seeing the view from a Marines' helmet, for example, added so much bonus immersion and understanding.

I think Ultramarines should have been done in high gothic with subtitles. gran_risa.gif

Instant fan project. gran_risa.gif

I nominate "The Bard" for the role of either the daemon or the chaplain. gran_risa.gif
