Immobility Spell card question

By Lord Loren Soth, in Talisman

Hello Guys

for me the spell card Immobility have no sense

i own the games workshop version of talisman and in my edition the immobility says cast this spell as required (so you can cast it to evade an enemy when you encounter it or when you are attacked you can evade another character) iin this version you can cast it only when you or another character are about to move to evade a creature or to impede movement to an opponent, now what is the senso to cast it on a creature before rolling the die for movement? i mean if i cast it and then roll the die there is a very high possibility to roll a number that is not the one that make you move to that creature.

Is that an error on the spell card and it is like the GW version of the game or it is really as stated on the card?

thanks in advance for your responses guys :)

According to discussion on BGG ( link ) it looks like the "before rolling movement" limitation is only supposed to apply if you're targeting yourself or another player. The use of this card against a creature can be done at any time during your turn.

I believe that the Immobility spell is just worded poorly, but the rule book for the base game has a useful example on page 18 where the Sorceress uses the Immobility spell in mid-move to evade the Sentinel. Based on that example, I believe that the first sentence regarding casting at the start of a character's turn only applies when casting it on a character. If you are casting it on a creature, then you may cast it any time the opportunity arises to evade that creature.

And what about when another character attack you?

can you cast it to evade the other character?

From what I understand and from what Steve-O posted above, the Immobility spell cannot be cast on another character unless it is being cast at the start of that player's turn. Casting it on a creature can be done as required.
