Just wanted to know if anyone knows if the updated map boards are in the base game now. Looking at getting a 2nd copy of the game and just would like to know if i have to order the map "expansion" aswell. I would have thought that FF should have put the new artwork boards in the base game now since they did change the art type a while ago now.
updated map boards in Base game now??
I've been wondering the same thing, but I doubt it—I don't ever recall seeing a TOI reprint in the Upcoming section, and I practically live there.
I've also been wondering, when there is a reprint, if the figures will be updated to the same quality as the Brits; they work much better with the bases.
And now for something completly different....
When the russians come, ... then we can start making scenarios large size, for example 5x6 boards, without using two copies of ToI
Well the russians come with winter boards(probably will get 2 copies of this, if it ever comes out). I want the 2 copies of the base game to make large battles (i know i could just get another map pack and i do already have normandy) But with larger maps ill need more troops too. Would be great if army sets were sold seperatly.
I would have thought since 2007 a reprint would have already been done!?
Ideally two games sound good in theory but who really has the time to play those massive scenarios anyways. It's as much fun to play two are three smaller scenarios in the same amount of time I am sure. I love the game but I dislike the idea of purchasing two base games or getting the same expansion twice. If I were to play the large maps I would much prefer if they released it as an expansion and added some new things in the mix as well.

Err, I do.
Is that a bad thing?
I wish for a game-room, where I can leave the tide of iron game and come back to it for example...
Maybe in my retirement home I will have time to play a massive game but as of now it's hard to play just a normal scenario.
hmm i have plenty of room to make large battles. since my office is right next to our warehouse, we live in a bay area live work space, i could set up really large battles but the warehouse cat would likely interfere.

This reminds me of one of the fetishes of mine... A big miniature game, aka the size of a smal park. For example recrate the stalin-grad battle, where one ToI miniature soldier represent one real soldier .) A huge enorms battle filed with tons of tanks and millions of infanteri
You will need a 'few" copies of FotB and the base game

Yes, if the german &US troops comes with the same quality as the british, I will buy another copy. For man, is it much more enjoyable playing with the birtish infanteri.
