Cylons and Special Character Abilities

By SableWyvern2, in Battlestar Galactica

The question has been raised several times in our group as to whether or not revealed cylons should still have access to special character abilities (and drawbacks). As such, I have checked several times looking for any rule that indicates these abilities are lost when a cylon reveals, and have been able to find nothing to indicate that they are.

Hunting around the forums here, I found only one passing reference to the issue, which consisted of an off-hand comment to the effect that these abilities are lost when a cylon reveals (specifically, the comment was that Tyrol no longer has a hand limit of 8 after revealing), and no one chimed in to disagree.

So, my questions are: Are special character abilities lost when a cylon reveals? And, if so, is there any actual rule text or designer feedback to back this up, or is it just a general consensus that it's an intended rule?

From pg 20 of the Rulebook:

Action Step: The Cylon player may perform the action
listed on his current location. Revealed Cylons may not
perform other actions, such as those found on Skill Cards
or Quorum Cards. All of the abilities listed on a revealed
Cylon player’s character sheet are also ignored.

That last sentence should answer your question.

Yay reading the rulebook!

Cheers for that.

I'm pretty sure I saw the rule on my first time through, but I missed it again and again on rechecks. preocupado.gif

No worries, I missed some on my first games, too.
