Battle of Oxcross vs Beric Dondarrion

By Ser Jon Allyrion, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Greetings!

Suppose you are playing a deck with Beric Dondarrion (If you have no power on your House card, Beric Dondarrion cannot be killed or discarded from play.) and have no power on your house card. Someone is running the Battle of Oxcross (At the end of the challenge phase, each player who has not won a Military challenge must choose and kill 1 character he or she controls) and you haven't won a military challenge. Is Beric safe now? Or do I have to kill him. Same goes for Coldhands for example.

Thank you

Ser Jon Allyrion

'Cannot be killed' is an absolute. Cannot means cannot. If you have characters besides Beric, you must kill one of those. If Beric's your only char, no one dies.

Indeed I meant, if I had Beric or Coldhands as the only character. :)

It's just that the plot text sounds so absolute aswell ( "must kill" ) so I was wondering about that.

Anyway thank you very much for the quick answer!
