I played my 3rd game a few days ago, this time with my girlfriend, I didnt even last one round before my two characters were devoured by Yog-Sothoth, she lost one character and with her second defeated "Yog" single handedly. Im sure we did a few things wrong but still...****, it was her first time playing. somehow she got a fight of about 18 so she had ample "fight' to remove the doom tokens from the AO card, even though it was being reduced by 1 each time.

Yeah... it sounds like a lot of mistakes were made there. You may need to clarify a bit. A combat rating of 18 is a bit high, especially considering that to survive Yog you need to keep your Fight low and your Will high.

Whenever I fight an Ancient One, my investigators seem to die a lot faster than my sister's. This annoys me a little...

I think my best is still 17-dice with Minh Thi Phan (raw, no Clues added yet). Was nice rolling 9 dice vs Nyogtha even when not first player.

It shouldn't be that impossible to do. Fight = 4, Personal Story passed with an Ally boosting her Fight means +2, having a skill for another +1 fight and your base is 7. Give her the Brazier of Souls and the Alien device and it's done. Give Marie Lambeau 3 Shrivelling and she will have a basics 21 combat, which is really impressive

Which is true, of course. Just never done it myself. Then again, I've only played 50-ish games. My favorite was when Diana Stanley had the FIght Skill, a +2 combat ally, Markings of Isis (so I could crank Fight instead of Will), Alien Device, and a Shotgun. That was REAL fun for me :-D So statistically possible (and we can contemplate the "most" a person can get sans clues. But whether or not that will ever come to be is the real question! Though I'm sure Dam was living a dream that game...

Minh's Synergy bonus also gives her +1 to all skill checks whenever she has an Ally or is in the same location as another investigator. But, along those lines IIRC.
