Spoiled Brat misprint?

By Vye King, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi all.

I've been a big fan of Descent for many years, and have finally picked up a copy of my own. I've been making my way through the missions in the book with a few friends. Today we played mission 4, "Spoiled Brat" In two rooms that have nothing else except monsters the heros encountered gold chests. In the room that contained the rune key to reach the final boss, as well as the room containing the final boss, there were only silver treasures. This seems very strange. Even the players (I'm playing the OL) agreed that finding gold chests this early seemed rather overpowered.

Are the chests ment to be in this order? Or should the early rooms contain silver treasures and the important rooms contain gold?

Without re-checking the quest: Careful with the colours!

It is sometimes hard to identify Copper chests as such, easy to see them as Gold chests.

The best way is to compare the colours with those on maps containing both types of chests.

I think it is the right way around.

Those two 'minor' rooms would be more or less totally ignorable if you swapped the treasures. Having teh good treasures there more or less forces you to go through more of the corner rooms and makes you take longer to do the quest overall. If the 'important' rooms had gold treasures you'd just open those rooms and cut the quest short by a lot.
