Monster Movement Over Ruble, Question.

By Phos_Hilaron, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

can a monster with a large base (ie giant, ogre, spider, dragon, etc.) move through rubble?

for example. There is a 2 space wide hallway. The OL plays crushing block, can the ogre move past the block? or does this prohibit large monster movement in essence quartering them to a particular space?

rubble...sorry...

No the monster cannot move through rubble (or any other space that prevents entry.

Rubble
Rubble markers represent a type of obstacle that blocks both figure movement and line of sight.
Water
Water does not block line of sight, but like rubble, it does block movement .

FAQ pg2
The overlord may choose to have a (large) monster affected by any terrain it partially occupies .

Large monsters can only choose to ignore terrain effects they occupy. If their movement is blocked by terrain, they can't enter that terrain, and if they can't enter then they can't occupy, and if they can't occupy they can't ignore the terrain rules.

Yes, large monsters have a number of significant disadvantages.
OTOH they can pretty much ignore pits, mud, lava etc unless there is really a lot of it.

rock on, thanks for the response. I really appreciate it!
