A few rules questions about the Swashbuckler and the Random Spell

By Redshirt5, in Talisman Rules Questions

The Swashbuckler character allows you to take an extra turn the first time you win a battle on your turn. I had a number of questions about that.

1. If the Swashbuckler encounters a space with multiple enemies and defeats one but loses to the next, does he still get an extra turn?

2. The Swashbuckler can only use this ability once per round, right? It's not normally possible for the Swashbuckler to defeat an enemy, take an extra turn in which he defeats another enemy, then takes an extra turn in which he defeats another enemy, etc. etc?

3. Say the Swashbuckler casts Temporal Warp, giving him three extra turns. Could he hypothetically defeat enemies in each of the extra turns to get 3 additional extra turns? Can he choose which of the extra turns are from Temporal Warp and which are from his defeating-an-enemy ability?

4. Does the Swashbuckler's ability to take extra turns trigger only when defeating enemies that are cards? Does it trigger when beating other characters? Does it trigger when defeating enemies like the farmer in the Tavern, the dragon in the cave, the werewolf in the Werewolf's Den or the Pitfiends in the "Fight the Pitfiends" space.

The final questions I have are about the Random spell in regards to the Crown of Command space. With the Random spell, you can be turned into a Toad, which means you drop all your items and can only move one space a turn.

Let's say you are on the Crown of Command space and you get turned into a Toad.

Presumably you cannot cast the Command spell while a Toad.

But can you just remain on the Crown of Command space for the three turns as a Toad? Or do you have to move back, essentially forcing you to go all the way to the Portal of Power and to pick up another Talisman before you can attempt to get to the Crown of Command again?

#1: Well, you fight all cards with same # as one enemy, but it is still possible to win a battle (either vs #1 or #2) and then lose a combat (psychic combat encounters are mostly #3 IIRC). So if you won a battle, then lost a combat, your current turn would end, but you still get the extra turn you earned.

#2: Yes.

#3: TW still happens within on round, the caster just takes 3 turns to the other players' one turn. So you only get one extra turn max.

#4: IIRC, it says if he wins a battle, so any Str combat. He can pick fights with the farmer in the tavern for cheap kicks gran_risa.gif .

Bonus: Once you're at the CoC, you don't normally have a choice to leave. Also, you don't need a Talisman for the CoC, only to enter the Valley of Fire. If you're Toaded at the CoC, you ribbit for three turns, then bring your wrath down as your return to normal form and blast the insects who threaten you to bits.
