I'm thinking of having my PC's, sometime during our RT game, be invited to the birthday event of a high Royal's daughter. My main question is; what music would be playing if she requested a band? Are their bands in 40k and what do they sound like? I want the band to have a poppish feel to it, I'd like to use the new song from Duran Duran's latest album, Leave a Light On ( javascript:void(0);/*1293935830949*/ ). I'd like the event to be stopped abruptly by the rogue Trader's adversary or some sort of Chaos Cult (possibly one in the same) and the band to actually be an Inquisitorial force that knew about the attack and use the guise of a band to infiltrate areas where the appearance of an Inquisitorial force might draw too much attention. Thoughts?

For Nobles, it would probably be something like Baroque with exotic instruments. The only reference for Imperial music I have is the Gaunt's Ghosts novels but high opera and limited symphonies would be my recommendation. Thrash metal bands probably exist on Hive Worlds but a blueblood wouldn't be caught dead attending one of those things.
