Bari treaty with the South - Thoughts?

By White Phoenix, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

So I am working on a Bara/Martell deck working around Abanoned forge and Alchemist Shop. Any thoughts on whether it is a plausable deck? So far the cards I have slotted are:

3x Boar Hunting Spears

3x Poisoned Knives

2x Abandoned Forges

3 Alchemist Shops

3x Silent Assasian

For Bara characters I'm working with Knights since many carry the "No Attachments except Weapons" text, and then using Martell characters for control such as Underhanded Assasian. As I mention above I am just starting on the deck, and on a personal note I am primarily a Martell player and only have played Bari once or twice. Any thoughts would be appricated and as I build the deck I will post more of the decklist here.

I think to build a deck with any of the Treaty agendas it would have to work really, really fast; you need to get 15 power before anyone else can get 10, and an opponent playing a rush deck may be able to win too fast. The Treaties seem like fun, but I'm not sure that you can build a competitive deck with them. I hope someone can prove me wrong, and I would like to hear how this works out!

intimidate + stinking drunk could be really fun with lots of claim twos

I think pure Martell will likely prove better. Try throwing in the Lost Oasis. The 3x Poison Knife, 3x Venomous blade, and (if you want) a couple rusted sword are sufficient. The Lost Oasis and Poison Knife are particularly good with that 3-gold, 1-STR guy that jumps into challenges.

So here's rough start to my deck. Feel free to offer suggestions, other than treaties don't work.

House Dayne Knight x3

Myrcella Lannister x1

Veteran Knight x3

Lord Edric's Knight x3

Knight of the Rainwood x3

Myrya Seaworth x1

Ser Arys Oakheart x1

Ser Davos Seaworth x1 (KL)

Brienne of Tarth x1 (Core)

Robert Baratheon x2 (Core)

Salladhor Saan x1 (KotS)

The Red Viper x1 (PotS)

Alchemist"s Shop x3

Abandoned Forge x2

Massey's Hook x2

Poisoned Knife x3

Hunting Spear x3

Rusted Sword x2

Seafarer's Bow x1

Like I said it's a rough start and I'm still workin on it. I'm considering Stormlands Smuggler as an option but haven't decided yet. As mention above any thoughts (please keep them constructive) would be great.

Okay, a few things come to mind quickly:

1) You should run something to slow/stop down the opponents power grab, two things come to mind: Melissandre (preferably CS, but also BwB might work) and Ellaria Sand.

2) You should preferably have a little bit more of stand, so you can get several uses per turn out of one dagger (and thus force your opponent to hold even more resources)

3) Wrong Brienne, the other one would be better, since it can stop all kinds of nasty surprises, and you'd preferably want your knife carrying characters to have at least two icons (so you can get two uses out of the knife with stand).

4) Not really sure about the Veteran Knight and Lord Edric's Knight characters, since they'r 2 gold 2 str monocon's... I would take either houses refugees, Jousting Knight or Lost Spearmen instead, keeping your decks speed up. Knight of the Rainwood is a bit better, but I would rather take good uniques or just cheaper characters to replace them.

5) You're pretty much lacking on draw, so some of the Martell draw chars might not be a bad idea, maybe House Messenger (instead of the Knights of the Rainwood?).

6) Seafarer's Bow seems a bit extra, and running 9 attachments can lead to some pretty bad setups.

7) If you're looking for more stealth chars, Sarella Sand might be decent with the dagger (can also self-stand if loses attack, so makes opponent do hard choices).

I finished the deck and had the opportunity to play it a couple nights ago. I went 1-2 with it, my oppoents were a Brotherhood deck, a Bara/Holy Deck and a Martell/Sandsnake deck. The win was against the Martell deck and I managed to make the Brotherhood deck go six rounds (usually he wins in two to three) before he finally won the game. The Bara/Holy deck had an uphill battle the entire game.

I would like to hear your thoughts. I am already changing the plots as they seem to be the biggest problem at the moment. They were the last thing that I selected and I did it will trying to make dinner for two small children.

How well was Bungled Orders working? I haven't managed to use it effectively yet so I'm kind of curious. What made you pick that as a plot?

Why a treaty deck instead of a shadow deck ran out of Martell or a Bara deck with some OOH stuff?

@Skowza - I wanted to try it out is the main reason for picking it, however the thought was to use to flip over Valar or Calm. Basically trying to cause problems for my opponent.

@Darksbane - I've done Martell/Shadows and am a little bored with it. I wanted to try a build that was a challenge and something that hasn't been tried before. As to running Bara with OOH stuff, I am actually working on a build that is the opposite; using Martell with OOH Bara stuff.
