Garden Of Morr

By ffgfan, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Ok, I don't know if anyone asked this before but I need a clear anwser:

when and how many token should You place on Garden Of Morr?

The text is when one or more units are destroyed, put a resource token on this card. But should it be one token for every unit or one token for all units?

The card looks like this - Garden Of Morr (Empire Support) 3EE, 1P, Building; This card gains a 1P for each resource token on it. Action: When one or more units are destroyed, put a resource token on this card

It is the same as Glittering tower + Initiate of Saphery. When an effect destroys one or more units, you may gain 1P on Garden of Morr. For example, if your opponent plays "Nurgle's Pestilence" and kills 3 units, you may gain 1P, then this opponent plays Flames of Tzeentch to kill another unit, you may gain 1P.

Except that GT was clarified that if you heal 3 units, you get to zap 3 dmg:

"Q: If I have Glittering Tower
in play, and multiple units
are healed by the same effect
(e.g. Initiate of Saphery’s
card effect), does the Tower’s
ability trigger once or once for
each unit healed?

A: The Glittering Tower will trigger
once for each unit healed, regardless of
if they are healed simultaneously." (FAQ, p. 14)

I think the difference between GT and GoM is that GT has "Whenever you heal a unit...", thus triggering for each unit healed and GoM has "When one or more units are destroyed...", namely that it is the destruction that triggers it, whether it's one or ten units, if they go at once, you get 1P.

Forgot the GT ruling, my bad.

Yeah, that was a really unfortunate example to use :)

So to clarify for the OP: It only gains 1 token whenever an effect destroys 1 or more units simultaneously ( unlike Glittering Tower / Initiate of Saphery). i.e. If someone plays Troll Vomit and destroys 6 units, when it resolves they all die at once and you only get 1 token.

The debatable part of your question is WHEN you should put the tokens on GoM. There is a thread somewhere on here that debates this. Its an Action, so I think you can't activate it until the next available action window after the units have been destroyed. For non-combat damage, that would be after any Action chain has resolved. For combat damage, this is the action window at the end of the apply damage step. As far as I know, this is also Dam's interpretation. The timing doesn't really make sense though. The card clearly says "When", yet you usually also can't play an Action right as something is being destroyed. Its just that I haven't heard of any other way to play it that makes more sense, and I don't ever get a response to rules inquiries.

Yeah, I think most of us expect GoM to receive a FAQ rewording like Glittering Tower and Altar of Khaine got. Both use to say "Action:" just like GoM, but then became constant effects.
