[BoM] p.120 "Psyocculum"

[boM] p.120 "Psyocculum"

The text states that the Psyocculum allows "the user to detect Psykers (and only Psykers) as if the user had the Psyniscience Skill" with a +20 bonus.

As far as I know, the core rules only give rules for detecting the use of psychic powers. Is this a mistake of mine (and the mechanismen in the core rules are used for detecting psykers as well; even if they do not do anything) or is there any other book including the rules on how psykers can be detected by Psyniscience?

Quoting page number is helpful, thank you!

If you actually read the description of Psyniscience in the DH rulebook, it states full rules on how to detect Psykers and Daemons with Psyniscience. All of this is on page 105 of the core rules.

Psyker abilities automatically prompt psyniscience test; psykers don't by themselves. *But* yes you can use it to detect Psykers. Rules are detailed in DH core book and expanded in IHB.

Hi Millandson,

thanks you very much. It actually somehow came stuck in my mind as "use of psychic powers",not "psykers". Perhaps due to the entries in the table which very much refer to some kind of activity.

But you are right, the paragraph above with the general discriptions puts it quiet right. "detects presene or absense of Daemons or Psykers".

You sure about that? It's a Full Action, and I can't find a reference to Psyniscience ever being automatically triggered either in the core rules or the IH.

Hm. For some reason I recall reading it but hell if I can find it. I might of simply gone full retard; so herp derp.

IIRC one of the adventures prompts Psyniscience tests on occasion in the presence of certain substances, I believe it was the one with the Joyous Choir? It never mentions an action required. I always ruled it as a passive perception check if I wanted the psyker to go buggy about something the other players couldn't see.

It does, but that is a specificity of features of the adventure, not Psynscience itself.
