[RANT] FFG, you are INSANE [BoM "Service Costs" for Confessions]

Newsflash: this is 40K, a lot of things make no sense whatsoever. Even more so, this debate sounds a lot as if there was an Imperial standard. In my impression of the Imperium, there is not. Isn't all of this up to the individual diocese? If a cardinal wants to charge that much for a confession, who's going to stop him?

If you think 75 thrones is too much, then make it so that on most planets in costs 7 thrones and bestows no benefits. Problem solved?

Don't have the book yet, but is there a mention of how long the confession takes? I was presuming it takes quite a while therefore time becomes a factor. If it takes 2 hours, then you are only going to manage to perform a few in a day, maybe a thousand in a year, let alone millions. Honestly, if you are going to moan about economics, do it properly.

They don't give any explanation of any ritual, hence the debate here. It's a game mechanic with a price tag that doesn't mesh with the fluff. I see it more as an indulgence, but because they don't tell you what it entails, we can only speculate.

In a corrupt system, take the money from the rich and give them something tangible, take money from the poor and give them a placebo. Rich are happy because they get the better product and the poor are happy because they get something. And the church keeps all the money themselves.

p.118: Sanctified Chain Coat vs. Shield Robes

The Sanctified Chain Coat (quote) "features prayers engraved into each individual ring". And some extra treatments with holy oils, sands, blessings and such. It retains it´s full AP against psychic powers, Warp Weapons etc. It costs 750 thrones and is rare. Nothing but common sense says it is primitive.

Shield Robes and the (so it seems) standard armor of many clerics. Ultra-Light mesh (2kg) with a protection of 3 AP. It costs 5.000 Thrones and is very rare

Yes, these look like robes. Yes, they are very priesty and stuff. But hey.... 5.000 a piece?

Firstly, the Chain Coat is pretty obviously primitive - it's noted to be worn on Feral/Feudal Worlds and the hairshirt isn't specifically noted to be primitive either. Secondly, the Shield Robes reek of a typo. 500 thrones seems about accurate to me, seeing they're not Warded.
