Negative Attachments

By Demon In Me, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Just got the core set for Christmas, and played a couple of times. As a big fan of the Targaryans in the books, I've been mostly playing them. I've noticed that they have a couple of negative attachments (like, "Such and such atached character is -2 strength. ) I know one of them allows you to kneel 1 influence to move it to an opponent's character, but what about the others? Am I missing something with the core game that would make it beneficial to put negative attachments on my characters or can I attach them to my opponent's character cards?

Sorry for the newb qestion and thanks for any help. So far I'm really enjoying it.

You can play attachments on anyone's character or location unless the card specifically states otherwise. The idea behind Poisoned Wine is that you can move it during challenges to weaken the attacking character; it also combos well with your Flame-Kissed, Forever Burning and Drogon. Targ has a lot of cards that burn opponents characters by reducing their strength to 0; take a look around the forums to find some ideas for Targ stuff.

Correction: you can only play attachments on characters (unless specified otherwise).

And Poisoned Wine actually does not combo well with Flame-Kissed.

Just to reiterate, there isn't a whole lot of benefit to playing negative attachments on your own characters. That's why you play them on your opponent's characters instead. As mentioned, you are not restricted to playing attachments on just your own characters.
