First strike action car....

By razorbacjac, in Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition

Play immediately after the strategy phase.

Player one has the initivitive-player two plays the card before player one has started a action......the card says return to normal play after the player using the card is done.

So do you go back to player one or go on to player three.....If you go back to player one-player two would get two turns . Is this correct.....Please anwer we are waiting. Thanks

Your first action of the round is 'moved' to before everyone else, not duplicated.

So the turn order of a 4-player game might go:

Production (with First strike)

Leadership

Diplomacy

Technology

Leadership

Diplomacy

Production

Technology

Leadership... etc

First strike is useful when you absolutely need to go first.

An example is when you have Diplomacy and you NEED to use that strategic action before Leadership/Initiative takes their turn.

The downside is that you are skipped.

This will become most apparent when you are a higher numbered strategy card.

If you were #7 and you needed to go first in an 8 player game, you would take your first action, and then 1-6, and 8 would go.

1-6 would then take another turn, and then you would take your second turn, as normal.

I remember using it last to purchase a colony.

We had an influence type objective in play and there were only 2 colonies left.

Thanks for your answers guys...Helps alot. Looked in the update on the rules and search but found nothing.
