Question about merging genestealers

By Sovelin, in Death Angel

I just bought this game and have read through the rules, and am about ready to play the game for the first time. I have one question though on merging swarms. Let's say that in position two on the left, I have a swarm of 2 genestealers that both have the tail icon. Now let's say I spawn 2 genestealers in position 1 on the left, one with a tail and one with a head icon. The event card tells me to move the tail icon swarms adjacent. So swarm two (from position 1) moves down, and is now in the same position as swarm one (in position 2, confused yet?). Do these two swarms merge immediately, or does swarm one have to do it's move action first, since it also had a tail icon genestealer in it?

In other words, will my end result be: a) two gene stealers in position 2 and two in position 3, b) four genestealers in position 2 c) four genestealers in position 3?

One more newbie question, when a card says I may do something, that means I have a choice, right? For example, in Intimidation, it says I may roll a die. Can I choose not to roll the die and not shuffle any genestealers back into a blip pile?

Actually, having just read corey's answers thread, I got my answer. It would be A.

You're correct that the word "may" indicates that you can choose whether you wish to use an ability or not. But of course, if you choose to role that die you can't look at the result and THEN decide not to use the ability. Once you decide to use it you're stuck with the result, good or bad.
