[SoB] A New Law card

By player1454578, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi,

the card A new Law from the dark queen plot can be played in the copper campaign level without any requirement?

Heroes can gain potions only finding them in dungeons?

This card in too strong...it can by played in the first turns and can cross heroes too much! What do you think about?

It is strong, but it is not what makes SoB almost impossible to win, so it is not "broken".

Get the skill Alchemist (for your runner) that gives 3 free potions every time the hero activates a glyph. It is in the starting home port (maybe because of that plot card, btw). We did, and between these and the potions found in chests, we almost never need to buy any, even though we can (we play a different plot).

I agree with Ispher. It is a very very strong card, more so in conjunction with Crushing Blow targeting one weapon type than for the potions. The potions can at least be countered with the Alchemist skill.

And yes, it can be played in copper level.

Get for your initial 15xp siege weapon upgrades, play this card in the second week, add the mistress of Serpents special lieutenant in the third week, and the heroes have nearly no chance of arriving in time at the city where alchemist can be trained.

So yes.. at the time beeing I would consider this card (at least in described setup) VERY strong, if not even overpowerd...

If we continue playing that campaign I think I'll have to consider placing some extra pots in the dungeons.. =/

Duh. The heroes start the campaign in the city where Alchemist can be trained.

Oh.. I see, sorry my bad... Looks like we misread the starting location... -.-'

Yeah.. then although still kinda annoying this combination is not THAT hard..

:)
