Anything new in the Vaults?

By player1367538, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I have been collection WFRP stuff for a while, and I have all the WFRP2 products.

It is tempting to just buy all, but in WFRP3 there seem to be much duplications.

So I think I'm going to skip tht gamemaster and players vaults. They do not include anything that I havn't got before if I own every product until now?

The creature vault and book seem to be "essential" and even if the game master and players handbooks are reproductions, I would love to have this information in hard cover.

I agree, it's a complete jungle.

I think, for the sake of selling this to new players/GM's, that they should make a list that shows which expansions/sets are included in which guides/vaults.

So for example Winds of Magic rules in XXX guide, and components in XXX vault.

There's been 10+ threads so far, asking which guides/vaults people needs to buy, so one sticky thread would help people immensly I think.

But yes, if you have everything else, you don't need player/GM vault/guides. I do though think, that one player guide per group is beneficial, as it allows players to faster skim through talents/actions, when they want to spend xp.

So yes, creature guide/vaults are the "essentials".

But does the players vault have all the cards up to cigns of faith. It says that the Players guide has all the info up to signs of faith, but when reading the players vault description it looks like it only has the stuff from the core set. That's BS to be honest, if that's the case.

And should someone getting into the game new get the Core Set or GM and Player's books and vaults? Would 1 each replicate what is in the core set?...

I see it as a way for them to keep the value of the independent expansion high. Further, I imagine including ALL the cards from ALL the expansions thus far would increase the cost of the vaults which may have been a price point they thought untenable.

I just got all the Guides & Vaults so I can tell. I f You have the core set the GM Vault & Players Vault will not bring anything new to You. It the same content as in the core set and only that. Of, sorry there is 1 change in the Players Vault are 4 new stand-ups (a new priest You can see Him in The Tome of Blessing on page 30 and 3 new Dwarf stand ups from the demo adventure Journey To Black Fire Pass).

But the Creature Vault is the same in size as Players Vault but has a lot of new thing (many action card, monster cards and group sheet). Also many new stand-ups.

What You would wish to know is that in the Guides are some thing that I like. It looks like this - GM Guide & Players Guide has nothing new in it. it looks like a reprint form the core set with some materials from expansions. We also got the new character sheet. But when You see the Creature guide You will be in heaven - many new monsters with a little bit fluff. The Creature Guide is a must have for every WFRP fan. gui%C3%B1o.gif

I've only ordered the players guide (and supposedly it recently shipped here in the states). I'll let you know when I get a chance :)
