Yes you can! I asked this question to JR at FFG. He said if you preorder at the FFG online store you can get the promo cards. I guess that just leaves the question of when will the preorder be available online and are you willing to pay the full price.

FFG being, by far, my favorite gaming company, I hope they start to offer this as well.

I'd pay the extra $$$ to buy direct, just to get promos or specials, or whatever...

Apparently copies are already now on their way to retailers, so chance of any changes to the pre-order program seems remote at this point. I'll probably just pre-order from an on-line retailer, since my FLGS sucks. Its unfortunately, but hopefully these promos will reappear later. If not, they're probably not a huge factor anyway.

Looks like it is coming out next week. Email from FFG:

"To celebrate next week's release of The Reaper, we are offering a pre-order promotion. If you pre-order your copy of The Reaper with your Friendly Local Game Store, we will send you two promo cards: The Instructor and Doppelganger. To learn more about our pre-order promotion, visit our Talisman Revised 4th Edition website or download your pre-order form directly."

I have not seen a way to pre-order this from the FFG site. Can we pre-order this yet?

I asked after the promo cards at my very nice FLGS ( http://www.shipitgames.com/ ) and his distro said they wouldn't be giving out any promo cards. I gave him a copy of the retailer form in addition to my filled out form, and it appears he lets FFG know he's done however many preorders from Alliance on the form. He got it in last Wed. or so, so it should be in time.

The way FFG is working this is confusing the retailers and the buyers...

I played the first version of Talisman more than 13 years ago, (german version) and back then both the doppelganger and the instructor were just regular cards. It´s strange to include them as bonus cards for promo reasons. To be honest, I do not like this to much, and it remindes me to this Wolf - thing in Tannhäuser.

I might be being stupid here but I'm uncertain as to how to claim these cards in the U.K?

Do I take the form into my local Travelling Man and Preorder the Reaper Expansion leaving them to deal with it? or do I complete the form and send it to the U.K. address given on the promotion page?

Does anyone have ANY idea as to why FFG is making us jump through hoops for TWO CARDS?!? As someone noted above, they WERE just a part of the game at one time!

I filled out the required form and dropped it off at my GREAT FLGS over the weekend. Eric (manager) and I had a good laugh at the form, which only asks for STORE information. How would ANYONE know I had filled it out?!? There's no space for my name!!!!!!!!

HIS distributor told him the offer had expired. I e-mailed the FFG link to Eric that stated that it had been extended a week. I'm not allowed to drive at the moment for medical reasons and my FLGS is app. 25 minutes away, so I couldn't get it there sooner...someone had to drive me.

My personal driving issue aside, does it seem to anyone ELSE that this is all just a bit much for two cards? Anyone have an idea as to the WHY behind all this?!?

Just to let everyone know, my friend emailed FFG on Tuesday the 16th, asking them about the promo cards and ordering online. He received a reply back very late Tuesday night stating that all online orders placed by Friday the 19th would be eligible for the promo cards.

We placed our order online on Wednesday the 17th and actually received the Reaper expansion AND the two promo cards yesterday the 18th! (even though we selected the 2-day shipping)

Played a game last night. We all loved the new adventure cards and spell cards. There is some good stuff in there. The new characters are great also.

So get your order in online today (the 19th) and you will receive the promo cards!

A. Tick off those who jumped through hoops by packing them in with future copies of Reaper, likewise making them available for those who got Reaper but not the cards.

For all I know, the promo card thing was a big success for FFG and they'll do it again.

I would have liked to see things handled more smoothly, myself. And, I wouldn't mind seeing A. enacted even though I'm one of the hoop-jumpers.

How do l get these cards in the UK, l have asked before & todate have had know reply.

Well, I had preordered and paid for my copy online before this program was even announced. I put my order in as soon as Reaper appeared in Previews. By the time this was announced, my card had been charged, and I couldn't undo my order. In effect, I was punished for being one of the first to preorder the game. I understand wanting to support the brick and mortar stores, but more advance notice would have been nice.

As for me, I'm going to try my luck finding these on eBay, I guess, unless FFG has another means of getting these out there. Even if they just end up being alternate artwork from cards in future expansions, I'd still like to get them.

Future promotions like this would need to be planned farther in advance, though. Definitely announced and details released before the product was solicited to stores. The game was solicited in the Diamond Previews that was released in the beginning of November, but this promo wasn't announced until the end of the month.

My panties aren't in a huge bunch over this, though. If eBay doesn't pan out, then I'll probably be a bit more whiny, though.

Of course, this is the only complaint I have so far. The game looks fantastic, and I think FFG did a great job in making it look good. I think the huge, sculpted toads probably made my day when I saw them.

FYI There are two similiar cards in The Raper anyway (alchemist school like the instructor and some craft beastie like the doppleganger).

I wonder now if they are promo cards with the Dungeon expansion...

I think we heard soon enough. Then i can pay again for those exclusive cards.
