what's up with America/Europe tourney???

By jUsTiN ONE EYE, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

just a curious american spectator who wants the "skinny" on the haps of the tourney??? i was fortunate to watch my buddy get stomped (he tried valiantly) by a four-epic-battle-syrio deck (i just call it like i see it) and am curious if the europeans are as strong as the gentleman from tel aviv!!! let me know... throne on!

Quick update: the other semifinal game is due to be played any time now. I was able to beat Gilgamesh's Epic/Siege deck on Sunday (playing Martell/Knights of the Hollow Hill), so I will play the winner of Alberto and Paul, a matchup of Bara Knights and Lanni Shadows, respectively, I believe.

I'll post more details of my tourney later, but suffice it to say that Gil got a huge jump on me in round one, claiming 9 power, but I was able to stabilize after that. Very good game.

nicely down ser... glad to hear your octgn woes have been solved ;) haha and your representing the America's! can't wait to hear the outcomes and the type of deck builds! happy holidays everyone! merry thronin'...

@ Longclaw: I was beaten by Alberto's knights deck during the 1st round of this tourney. I was not well prepared for this struggle with a non-efficient 3A lannister deck, but anyway, this is a very impressive deck (although i dont know Paul's one).

In any case, i come to wish you (a merry christmas and) good luck for your final... i guess this is gonna be a hard play but fair as usual.

I would give my support to Alberto (as i'm european gui%C3%B1o.gif) if he finally succeed against Paul's Lannisters...

Anyway, whenever and however these plays end, good luck to everybody. But don't forget.. Europeans do it better !!! lengua.gif

Thanks, Kordovan. Turns out, I needed that luck, and more. :) Alberto worked me over pretty good today in the final. I couldn't get my draw engines going, and his deck ran like butter. It was truly a masterful Bara deck. Sorry I couldn't have offered more competition. ;)

So congrats to Alberto, and thanks to everyone who participated in the tournament. We'll try to get another one started after everyone settles in after the holidays...

You need a different adjective like those innuendo bumper stickers, ie. "Divers Do it Deeper"

"Europeans do it historically" or "Europeans do it all together" or something ;)

Very interested in Bara Knight's deck.

I didn't hear about any competitive strength of Bara Knight before.

Gualdo and Longclaw, can you please post all players nicknames with house/agenda list?

Also anyone else from both top 4 would post decklist? I'm very curious about Gilgamesh Syrio deck.

I am quite curious that why you would use Northern Scavengers (TRS) x3. Did it hurt yourself when you were not playing against House Stark or Lannister?

Yeah, but since he's one of the best epic executors I call it Syrio epic deck.

Thanks for decklist - very interesting. Totally different idea than mine. I focused only on attack and you also have defense cards.

Northern Scavengers - I guess Gilgamesh needed a lot of cheap characters and it was worth to risk a little for cheap 3STR character (good for setup).

One thing is really weird for me - no Catelyn?

Surely Fear of Winter T1, Scavengers, Rule by Decree T2...

Yeah, but with epic events you have less cards anyway.

Masi said:

I didn't even think of this option. happy.gif

Rule by Decree was usually second plot with very good effect because of epic events in the first turn.

(Except for 1 game where my opponent had 11 cards and I had 10 so I played RBD and he played City of Lies and I had to discard 6 cards llorando.gif)

The Scavengers are a cheap 3 str char used because this deck really needs good flops.
