Above anything else, the copies aren't even played, they are simply placed into your card pool, so they can't possibly have been 'played as reversals'.
The attack 'played as a reversal' is just the one played via the ability though, so if we extend this example to say blocking with Assalto Montante and reversing with Flowing Gale Hook, even though FGH counts as played as a reversal per Assalto's text, the attacks played via FGH's ability are not played as reversals, they are just attacks played on the opponent's turn (via FGH's effect).
