Hi, I`m new to WFRP 2nd ed, and I have a question:

If an Elf Scribe has an illuminated Book (chosen academic knowledge magic), and he spends 200xp to cross to Apprentice Wizard, must he acquire Printed Book as well, considering illuminated book costs 350g, and printed 80? I believe that printed book is inferior version to printed book, so...

This is a WFRP 3 forum but as a WFRP 2 player i'll answer your question for you.

In this case it would be up to your GM to decide if this counted, most GM's would say its ok although yours would be within his rights to say its not depending on how strict he is being with the trappings system. It would certainly be withing the spirit of the system to allow it and if I was GMing the game I would allow it as it is a book on a related subject.
