Executive order and unrevealed cylons

By Cardinalsin2, in Battlestar Galactica

A couple of BSG games recently have featured unrevealed cylons being exec ordered, then using the exec order to reveal themselves. Does anyone know if this is allowed? It seems like it is way too effective: not only does it waste another player's action and bring in the cylon's reveal action, it evades the rule that when revealing themselves cylons immediately end their turn (it isn't their turn anyway), and is particularly effective if the exec order was played by the person to your right.

Views?

Not only is it legal, it's a good strategy. Try to monopolize on critical situations to get people to executive order you. It's part of the reason i'm going to dread once cally is around.

Someone could executive order her to kill Centurions on board Galactica, instead she goes and once per games a human then proceeds to reveal herself on the following turn (or same executive order if she was in the same location.)

Though I will laugh when Cally kills another hidden Cylon at some point in her attempt to reveal herself :P

Its perfectly legal, and its the reason you have to be careful with execs (especailly post sleeper).

However, the Cylon loses any actions left after revealing (ending their turn), so its usually best for them to screw something up before hanging themselves (crash a launch scouts or something).

Yes, it is legal. It is the counter-balance to Executive Order's power. You can't just go throwing them around like crazy.

Absolutely: and on an exec order you can take said action and then reveal yourself. Or better yet, if you are lucky enough to get EO'd by the player immediately to your right, you can take two such actions and then reveal on your turn.

Cheers all!

Yea, but I should hope that everyone that plays this learns very quickly that you should never ever XO the person to your left. Our group figured it out pretty quickly - I was Cylon Lee, the player to my right XOed me to kill centurions and instead I moved to Colonial One and elected myself Pres, then jumped in a Viper when an attack Crisis came, Arrest Order on the Admiral which left me as Admiral and then a 2nd Arrest Order on someone else on my own turn. Unbelievable defeat for the humans that game obviously.
You could get up to 5 actions in a row if XOed by the person to your right... if you haven't seen their loyalty card and there are unrevealed cylons, XOing the person to your left is a horrible idea almost 100% of the time.
