The movie collection...

By Crazy Aido, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

Recent discussion which aroused my never-ending love of armoured vehicles got me thinking.

One game scenarios based on everyone's favourite films?

I'm gonna stick one together now, involving a well built building surrounded by three heavy tanks and a barracks beside it...

Based on a situation resembling a certain film with an actor whose name that might resemble Japan-ward forest.

Basically, high action scenarios that make everyone laugh.

Ideas?

adapted the plot from where eagles dare would make a great death watch mission but it would have to be vs a rogue or traitor astartes for them to blend in

Kellys heroes with something other than money in the bank?

As has come up tertiarily on the idea dump thread, Apocalypse Now is my go to for all three of the WH40K RPGs.

I've used it in Roge Trader for the initial set up, having a sector governor officially request the Roge Trader to find another RT and revoke his charter. "Revoke. With extreme prejudice."

I've toyed with it for an ascension DH game with a rogue inqusitor.

I've stolen shamelessly for it when a PDF commander in an underhive went mad and the DH characters went looking for him.

I've been sketching out a couple of ways to do it with SM's for DW. Have a DW KT leader or watch commander go rogue. Pick one of the characters and have a captain from his chapter go rogue.

Apocalypse Now is pretty much a fountain of youth for campaigns.

him apocplyse now would make a great campagin :)

for the epic battle feel what about the 300 :) vs a chaos horde backing up some elite stormtroopers

or the classic 7 samurai which i have plundered for various roleplaying games , the kill team defending the village/ settlement vs returning pirates / dark eldar or other slavers?

Deathwatch could be an incredebly cool take on Saving Private Ryan.

Imagine the battlebrothers storming the beach, whilst under constant enemy fire, supporting shellshocked and terrified Imperial guardsmen as the fiery angels of death.

Later they are told that the commisariat request ther aid in retrieveing a young guardsman, far behind the enemy lines. The commisariat believes that can use him in a ploy to restore and increase morale, but the only ones that have a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding is the kill team.

Hmmm... I'm gonna have to make something out of this idea!
