Got mine, number 726. No transport damages.

However the book's cover has come away from the pages. It seems the spine was not glued to the pages properly nor the back page so the cover just falls off.sad.gif

I'm in exactly the same boat. The book's binding has completely detached from the book itself. I've emailed FFG about this, but no reply, presumably because it's Christmas. [Grinds teeth in frustration.]sad.gifenfadado.gifsorpresa.gifllorando.gif

Well if there are lots of people in that position it would lend legitimacy to the claim. It may also put FFG out of pocket by quite a bit, but that's what happens when the printer is using substandard components.

I just ran out and checked the mailbox, finding a slip telling me at I have a package waiting at the local post office (it's past midnight right now).

**** do I wish I had checked it earlier today, so I could have picked it up before the post office closed. Oh well, there's always Boxing Day.

669, arrived the day before Christmas. Woot!

No obvious damage, but been too busy to take it out and have a look yet.

:)

Rrrr... **** delayed holidays, I'm not going to be able to pick up my package until Wednesday!

Luckily Christmas was good to me, but **** do I want my collector's edition. Part of me even wants to head over to /tg/ for an unboxing.

Received several e-mails confirming order and to ensure I was happy with the inscription August through November. Received an e-mail with UPS tracking information on 12/16/2010. #698 arrived in Oregon, USA at 2:31PM on 12/20/2010. Waited till Christmas to open it (wasn't easy, lifted the gazillion pound box several times just thinking about opening it).

Overall impression: Amazing. I have never seen a metal case stamped and tooled like this. Simply incredible. No errors on inscription. No pages falling out. I am extremely happy with this product and FFG handling of its customization and distribution.

As an R&D and manufacturing operations manager for over 20 years I'll go over some of the "opportunities" I might provide the original suppliers (not FFG, since they merely contracted to have this manufactured). This is a great product but there are always opportunities to do things better next time.

The Case: 1) a different type of paint or a use a sealant/overcoat. The quality of the paint job was fine but the paint itself rubs off on your hands and bears a strong odor. I have found this to be a common issue with items painted or printed in Asia, specifically 2) Either don't use gems or apply them more carefully 3) While the magnetized chain posts inserted in the front is unique, nothing beats tried and true hook or pin through a latch 4) Better planning on liner would have resulted in lower height and a more flush closure of the case (nice attempt with cut outs for leather strap, though, so some effort was obviously made toward this) 4) Oath was loose in box but easily pressed back into place - may not have been pressed firmly enough to begin with since it doesn't feel like it is going anywhere now that it has been fully seated.

The Rule Book: Perfect in every way except for the binding feeling a little looser than I am used to. Nothing appears to be wrong, just a thinner spine binding than was used on say, the WH40K collector’s edition. Yes, I have had thicker "parchment" pages but I actually preferred the weight of this paper and I also prefer the matte finish because glossy is always hard to read due to reflections.

Once again, it was worth the wait and an amazing addition to my RPG collection. Thank you, FFG, for having the courage to do something different and unique for us diehard fans and collectors.

Happy Holidays,

Finally got it this morning. USPS is an awful way to ship packages, as their tracking sucks.

CE#0328, Brother Sabrael of the Storm Angels ready for duty.

Blah, it's still in customs. They called yesterday while I was in Ikea with the missus, but they have bad reception there so the guy couldn't understand a word I said. Ah well, I guess I can keep myself busy with building new Ikea furniture.

Still waiting here... tracking says it left the USA on the 23rd... but there have been no subsequent updates......

Opened mine last night. But it was delivered (to Vancouver, Canada) on Dec 21st. It is a marvel to behold in my display cabinet with all my Deathwatch figs. It was undamaged except for a miniscule scratch on the gold inquisition "I" on the front of the metal case. Some other design issues I would have changed as well. but I am happy with it.

Mine showed up yesterday finally. #303.

Got mine this afternoon!! #255 and in perfect condition too.

#154 is firmly in my clutches, perfect condition too :)

Collector's Edition copy #614 is not in my possession! :)

Not in your possession, that's surely a reason to rejoice. gui%C3%B1o.gif

And God-Emperor forbid if it was, copy #614 is rumoured to be possessed by Daemons. And I'm not even going to totally mention copy #666, shudder.

(Sorry but I just couldn't pass this one up.)

I wish they had delivered mine by USPS...I had put a hold on my mail while I was on vacation for a few weeks. I expected to have it waiting for me when I returned. Instead, they had mailed it UPS, which had sent it out three times, gotten no answer, and returned it to FFG. Now I have to wait even longer for it to be resent and pay shipping againsad.gif

Finally got mine today (Norway). #231

Now I've got the complete set of all three collectors editions, all three made out to (Inquisitor) Sydorius.

I agree with what is said above about USPS tracking sucking, but I discovered that if I put the USPS tracking number into the Norwegian postal service's tracking pages, I can track the package there with much better information than on the USPS tracking page.

UPS delivered mine yesterday. After leaving it at the depot since the 17th!!!!

they also wanted £35 Duty for the thing so i am now vexed.

Have not opened it yet, too anoyed to enjoy.

Are you sure it's import duty they said, not their own fee for it? Just that, if the CE counts as a book, there is no import duty to pay, and no tax to pay since books are VAT exempt in the UK (of course, I'm now assuming your in the UK lengua.gif).

to be honest i have been too busy with family and work to open the offending article. I forgot books are exempt, i am wondering if this is catagorised differently, but either way UPS is poo maybe they think that i should pay for storage for the days they forgot to deliver!

i have the receipt at home and will check this afternoon. My wife took the delivery so it was a bit difficult as she paid not knowing what it was. i will investigate and get suitably righteous and smite them!!!

Will keep you posted :/

Well, my cc was charged on 12/22 but I have no emails or tracking info. My storeacct still says "pending shipping"...I hope they sent it before they went on vacation...I read yesterday that the store would resume shipping on the 10th of January.......that is quite the space between being charged and shipping.....I just can't wait.....

And it's here! Number 0220 of 2000. So happy.

Ok so just been on to UPS, extremely nice lady explained what had happened. FFG is on their system as a board game producer. Iit would seem the parcel languished in the depot so the nice admin guys looked it over enough to decide they would try and charge something by applying it as a Board Game.

the consignment description is -Deathwatch Collectors Edition. Which it is felt was not clear enough. Nice lady has put it in dispute as she feels it is obvious it is a book.

Moral of this is an email to FFG to get them to put BOOK in the Description.

GRRR.

At least you got yours.... I am still waiting (and getting more pissed by the day).

Tracking hasnt shown an update since 23rd December!!!!
