Well, it seems a lot of people are having tons of trouble with this book. I just wanted to chime in that after extensive use (I've read the book front to back about five times now since I got it) with no damage happening to the book in any way. No damage comes to the case when I move it around and open/close it a lot nor when I placed it in my bag to take to my irl gaming group, so I'm not sure what happened to those books others have bought. Though, in the cold of winter in some places, that could of made the glue (depending on the kind used) ineffective from the exposure to the point where it doesn't seem like any thing was glued down at all.
Still haven't received mine. Sent FFG Shipping a message a few days ago, still no response. I hope they don't think I've canceled my order...
Mine's still listed as "pending shipping"
.....strange
They are doing stock taking and inventory over this week, and it has been stated before that they stopped sending out books just before Christmas, and would resume sending out the Collector's Editions on the 10th January.

Can you give us insight as to when RoB will be off the boat?

No idea, sorry. I just know that they were doing inventory because I asked, since I was ordering some stuff from them, when it'd be dispatched.
Finally got a tracking update today - after being dispatched from FFG on the 22nd December it has finally landed in Australia on the 11th of Jan (I could have flown there and back more than a dozen times!).
Anyway... hopefully the local post gets it out to me in the next few days.

I'm in exactly the same boat. The book's binding has completely detached from the book itself. I've emailed FFG about this, but no reply, presumably because it's Christmas. [Grinds teeth in frustration.]

Argh, I was so happy about my book, but the spine just started to come apart today. I had not even finished reading it, and I am being extremely careful with it in general.
Could you please let us know when you hear something back from them? I will also be mailing them soon, when I get a picture taken of it.
Finally arrived today - Yay!
Number # 486
Very impressed at the metal crate it comes in.
But I prefer the parchment paper used in the Rogue Trader special edition.
Overall this is a good effort by FFG (although their shipping time sucked big time). Given the long delay in getting this out I think I would have prefered it to come printed with the errata - but its still a great collectors edition. Two thumbs up.

I emailed them about it as soon as it arrived, and after a little bit of a hiatus over Xmas, was told that they are in the process of collating details of everyone whose book is damaged. They asked me for photos, I sent them in, they acknowledged receipt and they indciated they'd revert shortly. I'm now waiting for them to let me know the next step.
I would stress that FFG customer support is genuinely excellent: they're always incredibly polite, friendly and professional. I would suggest that if you've had a problem with the binding of the book (and I think you're not alone, just from a read through this thread) that you email them ASAP with pictures of the damage and invite them to let you know what they need to sort the situation out.

Ok, Ihad emailed back to the guy who sent the mails with the updates on the shippings. But I will email their customer support as well, as I got no reply on my other email yet. Thanks alot!
I got my tracking number today. Should have it early next week. I will let you know the condition it arrives in and the number.
For all those that have not received their tracking info, hope you get it soon....they must be working on the rest of the orders now.....
Number 539 has arrived!
I haven't read through all the complaints so these may be common issues:
1. The velcro on the buckle looks like it's too high up. There's holes for what looks like stiching would be, but instead the velcro appears glued on.
2. The black coloring on the book comes off in my hands.
I received it some days ago, i opened it only once and already I had some trouble with the spine. The glue doesn't stick enough. Im dissapointed because it is the second time I have some trouble with a costly collector edition. That's a shame.
To be fair, not many companies like FFG would take damaged collectors' edition books back, repay for packaging, and give you a not broken copy of the book.
You just have to e-mail customer services and they'll sort it out for you.
Bother Titus Drake of the Imperial Fists Chapter - DW collectors Ed. #0259
Arrived today by UPS. Outer box was a little rough around the edges and I think the stamped number was a little smeared, but it has been raining all day here. Inner box was in perfect condition.
The metal case was in great condition. I only wish there was some sort of a latch on the right-hand side to keep it closed tightly. Mine stays open about half an inch if you stand it upright. This is both minor and acceptable. Otherwise all parts of the case seem to be in good order upon first inspection.
The book itself was a little hard to remove from the metal case because it is a pretty tight fit with the leather belts and the padding. Once the book was out, It was in pristine condition. No printing issues, no major damage, no scuffing, etc. Binding is even in great shape.
Thanks FFG for making such a wonderful product!! I am sure this will be tucked away after being examined by my gaming group. I have a table copy for use, but this will be both an investment and a treasure.
Mine arrived in Greece on December 27, but i received it from the parcel service on January 7, due to my being away for the holidays. It has a problem with the binding of the front cover. It seems that there is no other problem with the book or the crate. But, to be honest, i'm afraid that it will spread if i start reading it. I will be very careful with it.
For those whose spine is damaged, FFG are going to start sending out replacements in 2 months.
Lets say ta and hope like hell the replacements are slightly more well made
