Possible Christmas present

By WizendTurnip, in Death Angel

So im fairly sure that my wife is getting me Death Angel for Christmas because she is awesome like that. I've read the early reviews of the game and seen the chatter from you guys here on the forum, but as seems to be my habit, I want to hear it from the fans. Whats does the game do well? What could have used a bit more work? Whats the best way to play(solo? two players, three? etc.)? And finally how does the game mechanics hold up with large(4+) groups of players?

I got my early Christmas present of Death Angel this past Sunday and have played through one single player campaing. I can only tell you that playing it alone was enjoyable and I look fowards to playing many games alone of the upcoming break. Very good game for the price. Since I cannot get away to play 40k all the time, this game help easy my cravings. Rules have a learning curve, but after you get them down, game goes at a good pace and you always feel like you are going to win and lose at the same time. Very exciting for me gran_risa.gif

Really great game, although playing single player is quite different than playing with other players. Some players say, it´s a little bit of a chore, controlling all those squads alone, and I can tell you, if you win (it´s a very hard game) your happiness won´t be as great as if you would won with others cooperatively. When I played it for the first time, I disliked the fact, that the Space Marine Terminators have only 50/50 chance to hit - they are the best of the best, for christ sake! And I really don´t like games, which are based solely on luck. But soon I realised Death Angel is different. Having higher chance to hit would make it too easy and the attacking is not same for all the troops. The die and luck itself builds a really high anticipation, and you have to use tactics to win, not just pure force.

After first two plays (with 3 other players) I immediately bought it. It´s worth the money. Trust me :)
